A surprise vist...

July also included a surprise visit to Kansas to celebrate Grandma Marilyn's 60th birthday! We had been planning this for months and it all worked perfectly and she didn't suspect a thing!

Somehow, even though we left at very different times both families arrived in Wichita within 10 minutes of each other. So, we sent Kennedy and William to the front door. Boy, was Grandma surprised! Mission accomplished.

The other nice part was we got to meet our newest cousin Ellie. She was only 8 weeks old!

More family showed up the next day to celebrate with cake.

Grandma with her beautiful cupcake cake, picked out by Dad. Good job, Dad!

Her funny birthday hat that sings songs, also a Dad pick. Reminded me of the sorting hat in the Harry Potter movies!

We also got to meet sweet baby Connor, 7 months old.

Great grandma and Grandpa Jackson with great grandkids.

Another good pic!
A good time was had by all!

The heat was extreme in Kansas, 107 degrees the entire time we were there. However, Papa Earl thought ahead and bought a small pool for the kids. They had a blast.

It is always so neat to watch William and Kennedy together. They always enjoy their time together and always pick right up where they left off the last time. In fact, in William's opinion Kennedy was the reason for the visit - not Grandma. He told us while we were driving that he didn't need to stop and eat, he wanted to see Kennedy! That was the refrain the entire drive, "I want to see Kennedy!"
