Thomas the Tank Engine, as most of you know, if the number one topic of conversation at our house. We watch Thomas on TV, we play with our toy engines regularly, got a play Thomas "tent" for our birthday and even have some Thomas bath toys. I had heard thru a friend that Thomas was coming to Denver for a weekend. It was going to be a Thomas extravaganza and we were NOT going to miss out!
Thomas was going to be at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. I knew that once William spotted Thomas, his head would spin off from excitement. My assumptions were pretty accurate! The event was very well set-up, we arrived and were transported to the museum via bus. As soon as we pulled in, here comes the Thomas engine making one of his many loops around the little quarter-mile track around the Railroad Museum. A chorus of "Thomas" was heard from many a child on that bus! What a hoot! But, that's just where the fun got started. You could have your picture taken with Thomas. Which of course, we did!
The part Will enjoyed the most was the large model railroad display that had a multiple trains running. It even had a circus train and a tiny Thomas the Tank Engine with his coaches, Anna and Clarabelle. (a Thomas tidbit o' trivia for you!)
This is where Will hung out, most of the time. I couldn't pry him away for love or money.
And finally, a cute little pic of our very own engineer inside a train where we got to ring the bell.
Sorry, I can't figure out how to flip it. But we had a great time and Dad was even able to join us after he got off work.
Thanks, Thomas - hope to see you again next year!
